We're remote. As in REMOTE.

Had 2 Barred Plymouths, and 3 Khaki Campbells. Cat came into our yard and took the free-ranging chickens out from under our noses, so quite careful with the ducks. One of our ducks was hatched out solo in an incubator, and is bonded strongly to our daughter. The other 2 were purchased from a commercial brooder and mailed so that she would have some company.

Currently the owners of 3 happy and free-swimming ducks.

We lost half our flock to a mountain lion once. I feel your pain. But as previous posters have said, it will be back. Netting at the very least cause cats climb and if you are genuinely remote you might have to quit free ranging. If you have a dog they can help alert you to trouble but they won't make a peep if its a lion. Or at least my big jerk dogs didn't haha
