Help!

I have a Silkie girl who has had 5 chicks she’s been kept separate but with wire in between the flock. The chicks are now fully feathered so I’ve let them out and everything has gone well.

Apart from one hen who has been squaring up to the Silkie through the wire and when I let out they really aggressively fought. I picked her up and carried her around to show dominance but same thing happened when I put her down.

Now the hen has been broody recently, could she be jealous? And how do I solve this. The chicks love being outside in the big run. Should I separatej the aggressive girl? Thank you.

If the aggression continues and the broody mama doesn't put the bully in her place...
... yes, I would remove the aggressive bird.
Broodies almost always have to fight their way back into the pecking order when rejoining the flock.

Now the hen has been broody recently, could she be jealous?
Did she hatch out a batch... or was she broken or.....?

Thanks for your advice. I have separated her and put her with her sister. Hope it calms down and they can rejoin the flock!
