I have 2 cats n 3 pekin bantams.... My chickens have been free ranging for 3 weeks nearly now..... Always supervised! My female cat doesn't seem to bothered by the chickens n quickly learnt that going too close to the chickens resulted in a drenching from the garden hose.... My male cat on the other hand seems more persistent and regardless of how wet he gets still comes back for more next time...... Will he give up soon or should I try a new tactic?

he wont give up, hes a cat, they hunt, stalk etc its what they do and to him that's just another thing to play with before making it into a nice fuzzy meal... a bell on his collar can work to warn them however it will do nothing to stop him stalking chasing and killing them. maybe keeping him confined inside while they free range could work, or free range them in a roofed inclosure

an aggressive rooster can work well ( on a non agressive one) as he will get angry if something approaches his hens
