You added the word 'trees' to chinese tallows....
Sitting here in this little parsonage out in the middle of a cottonfield on these hot summer days with NO trees....I'm wondering...how bad are they?

I'm wondering...how bad are they?

They are bad, BAD. They are taking over the gulf coast and moving like a wild fire into north LA. And then they are just as hard or harder to get rid of as the fire ants. I'm not even sure it's possible to get rid of them. They compare to the Kudzo vine that grows in Mississippi. Totally Useless!
The nurseries are planting the seeds of them and selling them as fast growing shade trees to other states. There outta be a law againt that. lol One mocking bird can plant a 5 county area in one season.
I dare not ever accuse my maker of having made a mistake at anything, but my prayer is that one day He will reveal to me the purpose of tallow trees.

I had a beautiful pair of black rosecomb bantams once. The little hen picked a perfect nesting spot in a little teepee thing we had in her part of the yard. She sat her eggs 18 days. I was so excited to see the babies. I never saw her, or the babies come out. So I went in on day 23 to see what was happening. Nothing was left. Just a few cleaned bones from the hen. I called an old farmer from up the road and he said that when the chicks started to hatch, it drew the ants. The broody hen wouldn't leave her clutch, so they ended up eating her, chicks everything. all that was left was her skull, a few bones...just some remains, but no flesh..nothing. You would have thought she'd been dead for years the way it looked.

* The church playyard got infested with fire ants on year and a rowdy & rude little girl from my SundaySchool class got bit up bad. I "rescued" her from the bites with a generous application of pickle juice from the church fridge and didn't have a single problem with her in class for months!!

Wow, Gwenfarms, that must have been a horrid sight, poor mama didn't leave her nest, I could only imagine that scenario....poor birds.

We use a popular systemic granule on our yard. (like Amdro) We broadcast 1-2 times a year to keep the fire ants out! Actually down! They never really go away.

I'm highly allergic to them and end up in the ER.
