Thanks for information I'm from oregon i aslo mixed oyster shells and grit in there chicken feed and i give them treats i think they get plenty of protein from there feed hopefully its they are taking there sweet time
 
Also i have been getting eggs from one chicken are friends gave us the other 3 i bought and they are 2yrs old are friends gave us the chicken because she was being pick on by the other ones she's doing alot better she is also smaller than the rest of the chickens its the type of breed.

Is it common for chickens to molt late july/august because i have 1 that is and i think the other one is to the 3rd one looks fine and not laying i have had them for almost 4 weeks and they are 2yrs old
