chickn got its leg in exhaust fan

i found one of my hens hanging upside down in my exhaust fan friday night when i went to do my ightly check on them before bed. the fan hadcut into her leg pretty bad and she was bleeding pretty bad so i shut the fan down and got her out and put her to sleep by tucking her head under her wing and then i took her to the garage and proxided it out and took some clean cloth strips and wrapped around it and then took black tape and taped it on. she has been making a great recovery i put her in with the big chickens again yesterday and she is walking with a bad gimp but still moving to the feeder and water. i think she will be ok.

do you think i did the right steps to help her out.?

ps the fan now has a guard on it.

Sounds good. Keep an eye out for infection, but she should be good to go. Nice work.
