We don’t have the chicks yet, we r getting them next year in the spring, our leghorn is around 3-4 months. I was just wanting to know if it would be safe for the chicks when we get them.

You should probably keep the chicks in a brooder with a heating element, isolated from her, at least initially, and integrate carefully.
