Chicks and ducks

We seem to be going through ALOT of water.. We have 9 chicks and 3 ducks 1 week old. What is normal?

Its the ducks. They waste alot of water and make a mess. I had 6 chicks and 2 ducks together. They were going to water like crazy and making the biggest mess. I now separated my chicks and they don't go through a quarter of the water, and there isn't a mess with the chicks anymore, just the ducks.

Thank you, I would like to keep them together since they will be sharing a coop and run...Hmmmm thinking a bigger waterier.

I let mine stay together for 4 weeks and I let me run around the yard together. The chicks tend to keep everything cleaner. When I get my coop I'll keep them together. But as long as they raise together first the first few weeks and continue to get contact with each other they should be fine. When I put mine together they greet each other like they missed each other. So they do learn to love each other, even after you separate them (if you have to).
