Chicks and quail

My husband and I are getting some broiler chicks but are also interested in some courntix quail. Could we house them together? Some sources say they need different food and some say they just grind up the chick feed. We only have one coop

Most species of quail should still be considered game birds even though there is no genetic relation between Old World quail (Coturnix) and New World quail like Bobwhite, Mountain and California quail.
That said, I think the feed Coturnix need is higher in protein and essential amino acids than what is appropriate for chicks but for meat birds they could probably eat the same feed without a lot of problems.
