Chicks and the buffalo gnat

I was setting up a pen for my 2 and 3 wk olds when I ran into a swarm of buffalo gnats, I've never lost any chickens to them but I wouldn't want to start now, would it be best to keep them in the coop until they're gone?

Well I didn't know what a buffalo gnat was so I googled it. Learn something new everyday here. I would keep them in. They probably wouldn't hurt a grown chicken cause of the feathers but chicks don't have too much to protect them.
