How fun, not sure if you have a coop yet? I put my chicks out in the coop at 1 week old because during that second week they get really active and like to explore, as long as the temperatures are above freezing (i don’t like dealing with frozen waterer) I’m raising my largest group ever right now 15 and the first week they were in my spare room in a 48” diameter brooder no way they would have been happy in that any longer moved them out into a 4’x8’ section of coop set up as brooder with their MHP.
As far as day/night mine go under or on top the MHP to nap during day and at dusk they all go under. Do you have it up to warm? I’ve never had a chick just flop and sleep
