Chicks are Hatching late on day 20

Hello,
Chicks started hatching a little early. Late on day 20, many others pipped.

Moved this evening to heat lamp to make room for more to hatch

I've got 2 just starting day 20....... I hope they look so cute by this time tomorrow.

Have 14 hatched so far.

We have been getting about 2 dz eggs a day and selling them for $2.50 dz to help pay for feed.
Decided to hatch more for experience and kids to watch, and maybe end up with a few more egg layers.

I have 1 leghorn Roo that was a mistake from a Hatchery. He has been very busy and we decided to try 60 eggs and see if they were fertile, 45 were I had 24 pure leghorn eggs and 21 mixed RIR hens and my Leghorn Roo, and 20 days later.......

What a cute picture of the little baby chicks! The hatchling in the pink coat is the cutest one.

Kudos for involving your children in this project and giving them an appreciation for nature and animals.

Have 24 Hatched as of Sun Morn and 6 Pipped.
All Mixed seem to be yellow with small specks of dark.
Half of the eggs were from RIR & Leghorn Roo is the white color dominate? all look yellow !

Finished Hatching:
Had 33 hatch OK and 5 were rotten must of died a week ago, and 7 died without Pipping????
I guess Ok about 73% Hatch of fertile eggs.
still confused on why all are yellow and none red or dark. 1/2 were RIR Mixed??
