Hello! I'm new to all this so I apologize if I don't know all the terminology yet. Day 21 was yesterday, and a few of my eggs are moving. It's now day 22 and they still haven't broken through the shell. Should I give it more time? Should I try to feed more water through the incubator to increase the humidity? Help!

Some eggs hatch at different rates than others. I usually leave mine until day 25 just to make sure the stragglers are hatched. It is definitely possible that there are a few just waiting to come out. If you haven't increased your humidity already, it would be a good idea to do so. I usually keep my humidity about 70% during hatching. You can even spritz the eggs with warm water if you're concerned about humidity. Good luck!

Thank you! I will try spritzing them. Wish me luck!

You're welcome! Easy for me to say, but don't get too antsy. lol... I just had a clutch hatch out where one of the chicks waited a whole 2 days after everyone else to hatch out. Perfectly healthy, but just wanted to stay in the warm egg for a little while longer.

Good luck and let us know how things go!

She (or he) made it! I have been so worried that it would suffocate. It looks healthy, still wobbling around and there are two others who have broken through their shells so we should have 2 more in a day or so. My daugher is so excited (as am I). She said she can't wait to be a "mommy"!!

So glad that it worked out well! Glad that you're able to introduce some new chicks to the family!
