Chicks don't like chick starter?

I need advice!

One chick hatched Saturday, the other chick hatched Sunday. I couldn't get any chick starter until yesterday. They seem to have no interest in it whatsoever. Mama will peck around in it and they come running to see what she's after but when she stops, they lose interest. Out of desperation today, I boiled a couple of eggs and gave them that. They ate some but not a whole lot, ended up giving it to the rest of the flock.

Is there something else I should be trying? They're drinking water, at least.

All advice and/or ideas appreciated!

They're very active and seem healthy, otherwise. Poop might be a little loose, but they're newborns! I do see them peck at her beak after she's pecked around in the food, so you're probably right, I just can't see it.

Ok, I'll try that, too. Thanks!

I dont think they eat much the first couple of days. I take my chick starter and put it in the blender and make it smaller. I have alot less waste and they seem to be able to eat it so much better. You dont have to make it to powder, just make the crumbles a third of what they are. You will see the difference right away.

I just went back out there to shut everyone in for the night and sat with the babies and mama a little while. They're showing more interest in the food than before. I think that's part of the problem, the food itself is still a little large for them. I'll figure out a way to hammer it into smaller bits. When do you think it won't be too big for them?
