Hey Guys, I purchased 15 Easter Egg chicks back in February from a great local breeder. I raised them in a brooder until 6 weeks old and then placed them in the coop with the other chickens. About a week after doing so my first chick died and now I am down to only 6. It happens one by one. Disease? I have never had this many chicks die from something like this. It starts with a chick getting sluggish then their wings begin to droop, and eventually they just lay down and pass. I have tried placing the chicks by themselves and quarantining the sick ones but nothing is working. Today my beautiful year old cochin rooster did the same thing. Now I am worried. Can I do anything about this? Does anyone possibly have an answer or faced the same problem?
Thanks so much for reading,
Mack

I am suspecting coccidiosis. As soon as you can, start them on Corid. You can find it at most feed stores and you put it into their water for 5 - 7 days. I hope this helps. If it is coccidia, you will see a huge change almost immediately. If it isn't, the Corid won't hurt them.
