Ok I'm new to this site and new to chickens. Ok so I have a massive problem. I bought 10 white leghorns all died but two I one day. Ok waited a week those two are Makin it so I then decided to mix it up a bit. So now I have my two leghorns, three white barred rock chicks, two black barred chicks, and five australorps. Everything's been going great so far. Until today I went to bed with 12 chicks, woke up with only 6. The rest died. Now the first set I had I know had gapeworms. The brood er was bleached down and properly cleaned. Bowls and all. But this last set I am stumped on. So chick number 6 my beautiful black barred rock hen was hanging on for dear life. All of the chicks that I have are at least a month old. My leghorns were going on 2. I still have one left. But anyway, so she is lifeless, shallow breathing, not eating or drinking, didn't have a running stool but it did have a little white in it. She had been fed the same thing as the rest of my chicks. Dumor chick starter. And about once a week a bowl of vitamin water. (The powder you mix in a gallon of water that's made specially for young chicks) now I have moved the remaining chicks to a makeshift brood er I haven't had a chance to sanatize the other one yet. And my last australorp hen is about the go she is acting the same way.....what am I doing wrong?
