Looking for advice/ help
Lost one of my 3 day old quail chicks yesterday it wasn’t eating or drinking and just slept under the brooder plate. It than looked as if it was struggling to breathe and was gasping air and eventually died. Today one of my 3 week old quail chicks been similar.Been Very lethargic not eating and drinking and basically just sleeping all day, making these little cry noises. was all lively yesterday. It snuggled up into me and suddenly stopped breathing.
Chip was special because I helped it hatch it was shrinkwrapped to the shell and after 24 hours was still not out.thought I would loose him so was quite chuffed it made it to week 3. So maybe something didn’t develop properly?
However Made appointment with vet on Saturday I am worried I have coccidiosis although no signs of loose stool or blood. So worried I am loosing my babies.
As I was typing this I lost another 3 day old chick. Anyone got any ideas.

Are they in the house? heated non-stick pans can kill birds.

I've lost assisted hatches after they've survived for a week, for no apparent reason, but it's less likely that's what's going on with you loosing 2 others, were either of those assisted too?

could their feed/bedding have gotten wet with enough time to have gone moldy? Probably not with them only being a few days old, but maybe.

are the different ages housed together?

Yes they are in the living room which is in the other side of the house so no where near the kitchen. I always use extract fan when cooking. Dom my pans are ceramic or steel don’t have any non stick Teflon pans ( they damage to easy)

The others were not assisted.

no bedding or food wet or mouldy as I clean daily.

they are housed beside each other not with each other. Hoping to get them all together once mature
