Hi three of our chicks eyes look glazed over and gooey. Does anyone know what this is or means?

Hi and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. I'm honestly not sure, but if you have vitamin supplements / electrolytes then I'd add it to their drinking water. I think that i saw a post on this subject a few minutes ago - if that was you and it was on the ER forum - https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/threads/add/forumId/10 then fine.

Sundays are a rather slow day for responses, so please be patient.

Good luck

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join us here! Sorry it's not under better circumstances and that your chicks have poorly eyes. They could have eye infections or upper respiratory infections can also affect eyes causing swelling and them to be gooey. I see you have posted in the emergency section, posting some pics of the eyes would be most helpful. Do they have any other symptoms? How old are they? Are they still under heat being brooded? What set up are they in now?
As much info as possible really helps so you can get good advice.

Good luck with your chicks :fl

I agree with Yorkshire coop, regarding post on the ER thread. Photos would be best , and as much detail as possible. Please understand if you go offline, no one will be able to reach you with assistance. Hope the chicks will be okay.
