One of my eggs under my broody just hatched. She is in the garage but it is in the 40's outside and cool in the garage too. So I was wondering, do I need a heat lamp on her for the babies or will she keep them warm enough? She is still sitting, I think waiting on the other eggs to hatch. She is in a dog kennel thing and I covered it with a towel to prevent drafts.

Or would it be better to bring them inside?? This is my first time hatching so I am probably just nervous about it, lol.

When I had a broody in a cold non heated room I put a heat light near her and aimed it at the nest. But not to close. She'll be fine don't panic. Believe me it was alot colder then than now. I had one hen hatch two for two in a non heated coop. Hens say, Never give up, never surrender.

Thanks, you guys are always a big help to me..
