We discovered our first mama hen was sitting on far too many eggs that were in all stages of development. We left her the ones that we thought would hatch immediately and moved the ones we thought would hatch soon into an incubator. We have a chick or two hatching every day or two for weeks
I’m worried about adding the newer babies back in with the mama and older hatchlings since they are now up and running around the property. When is it safe to add them? I don’t want them to get too cold or lost outside, but I know they do better being raised by a mama hen.

Once they have bonded with/imprinted on their chicks, most hens will not accept others. Monitor closely if you try to foster new chicks to her.
