Chicks Hatching!

Yeah! My first time incubating chicks and so far 3 out of 7 are hatched!
How long do I leave the unhatched eggs in the incubator?
How long before you realize something went wrong and they aren't going to hatch?
Hoping the other 4 are out when I wake up tomorrow!

Hi and from Ohio. So glad you joined.Congrats on your hatch. When you take out the ones that hatched, candle any that haven't piped to see if there is any movement.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Leave the newly hatched chicks and the unhatched eggs in the incubator for at least 24 hours after the last one hatches. Opening the incubator can cause unhatched eggs to have issues with low humidity. chicks do not need food or water for 2-3 days after hatching, so they can stay in the nice warm incubator that long.
