We have a tractor style coop/run. I have read on the forum to keep the birds in the coop for a couple of days to make sure they know where their home is and where to return to at night. Since they are in a coop with a small attached run do I still need to keep them in lockdown for a couple of days, or will they get the picture since there isn't too far that they can go?

Thanks!

PS - worried first time chick mom and first night out on their own (with a heat lamp, wireless thermometer, and me scaring them to death every time I sneak a peek.)

i am there with ya! My babies are out there too for their first night! I wish I had a wireless thermometer or a nanny cam out there....
