Chicks introduction to older bird

At what age should chicks be introduced to a full grown quail
I normally keep chicks in brooder until 4 to six wks old but unsure if i should put them in with older birds afterwards

You can introduce them when they're the same size as the older birds. That's usually around 6 weeks.

Yes, you do need to introduce them properly. A few days of see but don't touch is good. Those are likely to fail if the chicks are too small matter how careful you are.

I'm afraid I assumed that you would introduce them gradually.
