I have a baby that just hatched yesterday...she seems to have leg issues. She takes a step or 2, then just lies down. I was studying her to see what was up...thought she might be sick, but it seems like a leg problem. Her toes curl up when I pick her up and then when I put her down, her leg went out to the side and she hobbled a bit. Any suggestions on what to do to help her out? What does it mean to "hobble" like you mentioned in the first post? Thanks

a hobble is a brace that is mostly used to help correct splayed leg on chicks. some ppl use a band aid cut in half lengthwise. your chick could have splayed leg or a slipped tendon. if its a slipped tendon it needs to be fixed pretty quickly or the tendon could be damaged if a fix is attempted to late without properly exercising the leg to slightly restretch the tendon. use this site to further help you. its pretty thorough. a hobble is a brace that is mostly used to help correct splayed leg on chicks. some ppl use a band aid cut in half lengthwise. your chick could have splayed leg or a slipped tendon. if its a slipped tendon it needs to be fixed pretty quickly or the tendon could be damaged if a fix is attempted to late without properly exercising the leg to slightly restretch the tendon. use this site to further help you. its pretty thorough. a hobble is a brace that is mostly used to help correct splayed leg on chicks. some ppl use a band aid cut in half lengthwise. your chick could have splayed leg or a slipped tendon. if its a slipped tendon it needs to be fixed pretty quickly or the tendon could be damaged if a fix is attempted to late without properly exercising the leg to slightly restretch the tendon. use this site to further help you. its pretty thorough. a hobble is a brace that is mostly used to help correct splayed leg on chicks. some ppl use a band aid cut in half lengthwise. your chick could have splayed leg or a slipped tendon. if its a slipped tendon it needs to be fixed pretty quickly or the tendon could be damaged if a fix is attempted to late without properly exercising the leg to slightly restretch the tendon. use this site to further help you. its pretty thorough. a hobble is a brace that is mostly used to help correct splayed leg on chicks. some ppl use a band aid cut in half lengthwise. your chick could have splayed leg or a slipped tendon. if its a slipped tendon it needs to be fixed pretty quickly or the tendon could be damaged if a fix is attempted to late without properly exercising the leg to slightly restretch the tendon. use this site to further help you. its pretty thorough. may have to scroll down to it. it covers both conditions. and explains in more detail about hobbles. https://sites.google.com/a/poultrypedia.com/poultrypedia/poultry-podiatry#chick_crooked_leg
