chicks panting and then die??? !!!!!!!!!!!!

I use puppy pee pads for both chicks and ducklings and haven't had any problems with them dying.

I'd say it probably has more to do with the fact they were weak chicks that couldn't hatch on their own.

So she sent me a picture through email...here it is....its of her brooder as you can see they have plenty of room to get away from the heat....she removed the puppy pads too.

Well, at least one questionable feature has been removed. It can't hurt!

It will probably take 24 hours to negate any effects of the former puppy pads. Meanwhile, have you seen these birds, or any closeup pics?
