The chicks put themselves to bed in the Coop tonight! We have 11 chickens in the main flock, and 8 chicks that are 6.5 weeks old. We've been letting them integrate with the main flock over the past week or so - but they have been sleeping in a separate brooder - with a separate entry in another part of the run. Last night we blocked off the brooder, and most of the chicks had to be put into the coop. Tonight, all had made their way up into the coop (it is elevated), and put themselves to bed on a lower roost! None of them were hiding in the nest boxes - another surprise!
Here they are, at a respectable distance from the rest of the flock!
