Chicks hatched in the flock on June 8th. A couple of days ago, I noticed in the late afternoon, Gramma Feathers, who brooded them and hatched them out, had them up on top of a 3 foot tall platform. Today, I noticed a chick on top of a pallet so pretty close to 5 feet tall.

Tonight, when I went in, they were all roosting with the big girls, two right next to her, and I think one was under her, but she had them up there. 3 weeks and 2 days old. The roost is 4 + feet of the ground.

Just made me smile. She has brooded several times for me, and always gets her chicks up there. And then she tends to keep them much longer than a lot of bloodies. Even when she quits feeding them, they will still hang out together. Sherbert - a chick she raised last year, hatched out a single chick, just two days ago. I was a bit curious how that would go, but seems to be going fine.
