Hello,
My name is Mariah I am a first grade teacher. Two other teachers and I just did the incubator project and together we hatched 17 healthy Black Australorp chicks.I picked that breed because they are good layers. We are looking for a good home for them by 3/6/15 when they will be 4.5 weeks old. We are not sure which are roosters yet. We need the new owner to commit to taking pictures of the chicks as they grow into chickens every week or so and e-mailing them to us so we can keep our students updated. Please e-mail me and let me know how many chicks you can take.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. If I needed more chickens, I would take them in a heartbeat as Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in finding owners for your BA chicks.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Usually chicks hatched at schools go home with some of the children. Sounds like you are victims of "too successful," hatches. You might try a notice at the feed store, or advertise on Craig's list.

Welcome to byc. I am only a few hours from you and would be willing to meet for several of these chicks. The school project sounds like an awesome idea and would definitely be willing to take pictures. Actually I'm pretty sure most byc'rs love taking pictures of their chickens.

Welcome to BYC! Sounds like you had good success with your classroom hatch. Bet the kids loved that project. Hope you find homes for them all!

I'm glad you joined us.

I hope you can find some people who want to raise the chicks!
