Hello. I'm new and just have a quick question for all you experts out there. Am in the process of hatching my first successful batch of cochin bantams. First one hatched yesterday afternoon and when I woke up this morning I had 4 more and several pipped. I'm at work but my mother in law just called and said all chicks are very wet and lethargic. The humidity in the incubator is 80% and temp is running at a steady 99.5. Could it be that the humidity is to high? I fear letting any out in case of shrink wrapping the pipped eggs.
Thanks for any advise. I've been ease dropping on this forum for a while and found really helpful info every time!

You are fine they hatch wet and sleepy, and stay sleepy for a day or so. It's hard work getting out of an egg.

Thank you. I'm a bit paranoid. They're so tiny. What concerned me was that the first that hatched was beginning to fluff up then the humidity got pretty high and he started to look like a drowned rat again;)

If you have plugs in, you should take they out. I've had the same issue with my d'Uccles.

Yeah the plugs have been out the whole time. I actually had a hard time keeping the humidity up until they started hatching. Then it sky rocketed.
