Chicks with bloody stools

Get the Corid liquid or if they are out, get the power. Dosage is 2 tsp (10 ml) of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water. It is found near the cattle meds. Treat for 5-7 days. Do you have any pictures of the droppings? Look for any chicks who suddenly become hunched or puff up and are not drinking. Keep the bedding as dry and clean as possible.

Another had runny stool with blood mixed in.

How could they have gotten it in the first place

They get coccidiosis from exposure to soil and other chickens’ droppings. There is no risk using Corid, but hold off giving any vitamins, especially thiamine while on it. Chickens eventually build up a resisitance to coccidia in the soil. Keeping droppings removed and adding clean bedding, while preventing spills, and raising waterers to prevent droppings from getting in are helpful.

I also have 10, 1week old chicks that are separated and having no symptoms should I give them some too
