Chicks with poopy pants

My 6 week old chicks have had mild diarrhea from day one. They do not seem to feel bad and they aren't pooping more frequently than normal, it is just that when they go it is very watery. Sorry to be so graphic. They are also cute and fluffy! I have brought on two chicks every spring for the last 4 years and never had this problem. I have given them little treats like fruit and greens and let them out in the yard when it is warm enough but nothing seems to make a difference. Does any one have any ideas? Your help would be appreciated.

Have your chicks been on a medicated starter? I would suggest you take a fecal sample in to check for parasites, in particular Coccidia. If that is not possible, then treat for coccidia anyway.

Thank you. For the first time they actually are on medicated starter. I bought it by accident. What is the treatment for coccidia?

Medicated starter is to prevent illness from coccidia (it does NOT have an antibiotic and is not for infections). However if you have chicks that have diarrhea and are sick, it would be best to treat with corid as well.
