Hello! I have a question, can I put my chick to sleep on my hands? or should I put her in her in her house? She doesn't sleep when she is inside her house. My family says to not touch her much. She is lonely and I am giving her a lot of attention (more like attached to her) so she wouldn't feel lonely. Is it good for her?

Do you have other chicks? If not I STRONGLY recommend getting her some friends. Chickens are social creatures and don‘t generally do well without a flock. It’s probably best for her to sleep in the brooder. She won’t get the warmth she needs from your hands.

I don't have other chicks, the eggs died. I put a warm blanket around her and give her warm from me. Is it okay?
What do you use in the brooder: A heat lamp? A heat plate? What?

Yeah, you may want to stop by a local feed store and see if they have early chicks for sale. Buy two or three, and they'll establish a decent flock while keep each other comfortable. It's lonely and likely developing depression, so I'd do something quickly. For now, giving it plenty of attention can be beneficial, but keep in mind a person can't replace a flock.

i would maybe put her little setup next to your bed, or somewhere where she can see you, even in the corner of your room, make sure she is always warm, i recommend leaving her in her brooder in order to stay completely warm and have food and water, i did that with my chick that was lonely for a bit, i slept with my foot in there and now he’s attached to my feet as he’s older :)

but it is also super important to get her a friend, she could possibly die without one, like i’ve said in your previous post, getting her a light stuffed animal will help a bit, and a small mirror for her to be distracted!

also she will most likely cry all night if she feels lonely and after awhile it drives you a little
coo coo , it will be nice for her to be moved in her enclosure in your room next to you :) and although it might be nice for her to be in your hand i wouldn’t risk squishing her and her getting chilled :thumbsup

I will do that right now! Thanks a lot!
