Chicks!

So yesterday was the 21st day, so far i have 2 BRs and 3 D'uccles!!! I also went to TSC today to get horse feed and came back with 7 bantams, they owed me chicks so i got 7 bantams.

Unfortunetly the Bantys weren't doing that good, but i figured since i already paid them for chicks i would just take them and try to save them. I already had to cull 1, another isn't looking good. One is healthy so hes in with the ones i hatched the rest are in a seperate brooder resting. This TSC had over 1/2 of there bantams croak on them.

Im calling the headquarters monday to complain.

I am sorry, that is just so sad. They don't know what they are doing and the worst part is they don't seem to care. Good luck with the rest of your fuzzybutts.

Thanks, i came here for support on this one, ugh. I bought them knowing that they probally weren't going to make it. But i wanted to give them a chance!

It is so sad the way they treat the chicks. It seems to me if they were going to sell them, they might know a little bit about taking care of them properly, at least. I bought 6 bantams from tsc the first of apr., 3 d' uccles and 3 porcelains and I lost 1 porc. The porcelains were the only 3 in there and the 1 that died was sooo small. Thanks for trying to save them!

Yea, this specific TSC knows what there doing, its just that the shipping on the bantam chicks is what does them in. I was talking to my mom who's an employee of TSC and she said IF i got the big shots of TSC to agree to it, we could start a little hatchery hatching bantams for the CT TSCs... idk, sounds sorta unrealistic BUT im going to try. I wouldn't really expect to be making money off it, but enough to break even, i would probally just do OEGBs because they are easy and cool. Plus i don't want to do the same breed that i plan on showing (D'uccles) because obviously i won't be able to breed show quality birds in bulk...but i wouldnt be buying horrible chickens chicken either. Any ways im getting ahead of my self.

Thanks guys, sadly only one made it. One made it though the night then just didn't have the will any more. Its very sad, i contacted both the nersery and TSC i should hear back from them on monday

Let us know what happens. I went to our TSC yesterday and it was all I could do not to clean off their little tushes, and their waterers. They were so nasty.
Made me sad.

I would take em all if I could.
