I have two hens sitting on eggs next to each other for about a week now in a barn. I have other chickens too. Do I need to keep them separate as soon as they hatch?? I don't know what to do plz help so I can prepare :-/

! Pleased you joined our community! I believe the general rule is to keep the hen and her chicks away from the others but I'm not the right person to give hatching advice. Post in the following link for information on this topic. Good luck and have fun!

R they ok out in the open? cuz i shouldnt disturb them right??

quote name="CochinBrahmaLover" url="/t/799606/chicks#post_11543369"]You should seperate both hens from the main flock in a safe, large-ish area that has enough space for food, water, 2 hens and some leg room
The hens can be left together[/quote]

Are the eggs hatched already?
The hen (should) will keep the chicks warm and safe
If you mean the hens, you can make a nest out of a dog crate or a brooder, and just keep it in a separated area, but they should have cover. You can move their eggs, but make a nice fluffy nest out of hay/shavings, and move each egg slowly and gently (don't rock them) and then set each hen on the nest and they'll rearrange.
Chickens are pretty stubborn when it comes to being broody ^^

Btw welcome to BYC

Oh and between 2 moms likely the chicks won't be abandoned, but we have a hen who will hatch chicks then just leave them, so if one of them seems like she just wants to leave (we actually had 2 hens like this) or takes dust bathes and such, it's safer to remove her, IF that happens but I doubt it will ^^ not to worry you

Ok. I was afraid of touching and moving them that they wouldn't sit on them anymore
