Chinese painted quails

Hello,
We recently brought 3 Chinese painted quails. We were told we had 1 boy and 2 girls. One of the alleged girls has started pecking the boy and he is running from her. He is clearly unhappy so what can we do about it? Could the girl actually be a boy or do they just need a bigger space?

This breed of quail is kept one male to one female. And many times a female can become aggressive. So you may need to separate her out completely or rehome her. I am sorry you are having trouble with your quail. I keep bobwhites and yes, they can be a handful sometimes!
