chirping egg?

I went to throw away my broodies only egg I thought was bad and it chirped at me. Is this usual? I guess it means its ready to hatch? There is no pipping yet though. I guess I never thought they made noise until they hatched.

They can chirp or peep when they pip into the air cell inside the egg.

Give it back to the hen. IT is alive and will likely hatch in a few days.

Yup, this is normal. It has internally pipped and getting ready to hatch.

Awesome. I put it back once I heard it. I hope I didnt disorientate when I picked it up. Time will tell.

it hatched! one tiny (half bantam) black ball of fuzz. And very feathered feet so must be out of my standard brahma lol.

The roo was a bantam cross and hen was fullsize brahma or wyandotte. I will try for pics.
