Hey everyone,
The brooder and the chicks are in the laundry room. The temp is 80 degrees. And whenever I go visit them, they become quiet little good girls. But a few minutes after I leave, they start chirping like CRAZY!! What should I do? By the way, they are in a reasonable sized dog crate. There are 5 of them. Should I maybe get a larger brooder? HOW CAN I STOP THE UNNORMAL CHIRPING?!

How old are they? The first week the brooder needs to be 95 degrees. Perhaps they are cold. I would lower the brooder light and make sure there are no drafts. I cover the sides and top of my dog crate. I have the brooder lamp inside. I have one chick that needs the 90 degrees(she is 1.5 weeks old).

There's just times that they get noisy. I remember my hubby and I laying in bed cracking up hearing the tiny chicks in the bathroom having an all night party.
