Looking for anyone with experience in chocolates! I purchased these cuties from a breeder as hatching eggs. They are supposed to be chocolate Orpingtons. Parents are both chocolate. Is it possible for all 5 chicks to be black at a day old? I was expecting brown chicks not black. Breeder says they will change, just curious if anyone else has found this to be true?

It doesn't make sense.
If both parents are chocolate all offspring would be too. No chance at two chocolates producing black offspring.
Those are black. Chocolates are born clearly chocolate. They aren't born looking black and change to chocolate.

I agree, maybe if they had a mix of blacks and chocolates some could be splits though
