Hello peeps am having an issue with my Chocolate Orp not laying. They stopped laying ever since there main roo died 6 months ago. There on organic laying feed and get lots of sun light. They have there own place.

wow it must have been traumatic for them to loose the roo! I know chickens hate change and maybe that change has stressed them. when I first got my pullet she stopped laying for two months because of her move. she is laying again now daily. sometimes it takes time. 6months seems awful long though
as long as they are comfortable and have proper nutrition they should begin laying soon. is anything stressing them out that you know of? barking dogs predators any thing you can think of that's making them stress? has there been any more changes to the flock? any additional birds added? anything different that you can think of that might stress them? I wish you the best and do hope they begin to lay soon! in the meantime see if anything at all you can think of might be making them stress? also do health checks because sometimes illnesses can cause egg laying to drop or stop. give them a good once over and look listen to there breathing and feel them for any clues that might be present. then if nothing you can rule out illness. make sure they have no mites or bugs also. kind of do a process of elimination. see if you can figure out what exactly might be the cause besides the roos death. hope this helps. good luck!

I agree,.......... there's only so much u can do. Am going to go over the steps again maybe I'll get lucky. They don't have lice/etc. There super clean. At least that one is covered. There is one thing I haven't done my coop is super big I divided it up into 4s and the inside has screen, so they see each other. Am thinking that's my problem.
