Chocolate silkies

Why do I have different colour chicks, if the parents are both chocolates? I kept 2 greyish coloured chicks that feathered out very much chocolate, is this normal?

Parents here, the roo is a little lighter than the hen but not as much as the picture is showing.

Where did you get the parents? Your rooster appears to be Mauve which means he is carrying both blue and chocolate genes making him Bbcc.

Somebody needed to rehome them, so I took them in,& all she told me was they’re chocolate silkies, that they’re very sought after birds.

I think the light spots on the roo may be sun bleaching, he was darker earlier in the spring
