This little guy was acquired 3 weeks ago. He is a year old, and has brought stability to the formerly roosterless flock. He was brought in to give our girls some daytime free range protection. I've been looking through the galleries for another chocolate but have been unable to find one. Has anyone seen one before?

Maybe it's the camera but he looks grey to me, nothing that could be considered 'chocolate'.

I'm not a purebreed expert, I couldn't reliably name all of them yet that is, but, he doesn't look like the majority of Sumatras I've seen.

Anyway, someone with more knowledge should help you out here hopefully. Best wishes.

He's mostly chocolate and has a very small amount of grey/platinum. The photo is poor. He is a cross between a purebred bantam sumatran and purebred full sized sumatran. At least so I've been told. I chose him because he was the only rooster that would back up when i approached the coop/run. I have small children and i didn't want a problem rooster. Either way, in the time we've had him he hasn't given humans any grief. He keeps the hens bickering to a minimum as well.
