Over the past few years, I have had two different wyandotte roo's. One silver laced and one gold. Both turned out extremely aggressive. Mr.Gold has reached the end of my patience, and I'm thinking he will not be with us much longer. I allow my chickens to free range most of the day, and he will go out of his way to assault. He batters the hens, and their backs are becoming increasingly raw and bloody. Currently I have a choice between three young cockerels. I know that I do not necessarily need a roo, but I would enjoy one who was a little more on the friendly side! I have a silver spangled Hamburg, partridge rock, and a welsummer. Anyone willing to share experiences with these breeds? I would like to hear your thoughts and/or preferences!

well i have a wellie and he is sweet

but many roos are good

infact some good breeds turn out bad and some known bad turn out excellent

it all depends of how they are raised

but yes get rid of yours thats not good at all what he is doing

I really have tried to be understanding of his hormones...he was friendly, and then one day he just snapped. The hens will eat out of my hand and follow me everywhere.

he is in my tummy now

That is exactly where my silver-laced man went. ...and where 'ol goldie is gonna go too! LOL.
