Since my quail pen was in dire need of some "hides" for Bee, my hen, I decided to go with a Xmas theme and found a tiny tree at Target and hung up some large plastic silver balls for ornaments. The tree itself is plastic with a burlap-wrapped base. I wouldn't put anything like this in with my budgies because they'd chew on it, but the plastic "needles" are too stiff for the quail to peck off and eat.
It was surprisingly hard to find things WITHOUT glitter or small bits glued to the surface! I eventually removed the moose because he was freaking out Scoots and Bee. Now they're totally cool with it
