A Christmas Carol (the original black and white and the muppet version), White Christmas, It's A Wonderful Life, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey and the animated one), Christmas on 34th St, Rudolph (claymation), Frosty the Snowman, The little Drummer Boy (claymation)....and a few others I can't remember right now...

Ummm...Piercing stuff, jewelry, a huge crockpot, cast iron griddle/cookware, an extra large deep dish aluminum turkey roasting pan...the kind that is like a real pan and can be reused, not those disposable thin pans, and not a non-stick version....a housekeeper, 50 Jumbo Cornish X Rock chicks from McMurray Hatchery, a shelf to put above my washer and dryer, and some other stuff I can't think of right now....

2. Real tree or Artificial? Real! I would rather have a tiny Charlie Brown tree than a artificial one! Plus I LOVE the smell!


3. When do you put up the tree? Usually the first week of December, but I have babies (human ones)in the house this year, so It might be later..not sure yet!


4. When do you take the tree down? Usually the 28th, my sons birthday is the 29th so we have to make room for his party! We set it out front with the lights still on it with our other shrubs and landscaping! Get a little more use out of it, then it goes to the chicken pen!

Because we are Baha'i, we don't officially celebrate Christmas. We have Holy Days throughout the year, one of which is a gift-giving time called Ayyam-i-Ha.

On top of that, we believe the true spirit of Christmas has been drowned in commercialism.

Basically we do it on New Year's Day so that anyone who travels or has a gathering on Christmas Day at their own house can still attend our gathering. Friends/family who want to, can exchange gifts. We have our big 'Christmas Dinner' afterward -- a huge turkey and the works. We give one small gift to each person who attends.

We usually send out a 'hope you have a happy holiday season' email. I think we've gotten one card per year in the mail. When I was a child our entire front door was covered with a hundred Christmas cards.
