Chronicle of the chicks after being moved outside. (new title)

Got some netting added finally. Just cheap stuff for now, but I already had most of it, just had to stitch it together. I'll be adding a better net soon over the top.

Stuck some legs on an old pallet for a little extra shade.

Very thankful to have a hubby who fabricates and welds things up when I ask him to. He was welding me on a hook for my outside nipple water bucket and he got the cable put up for the netting.

Seven weeks old now and really enjoying their run.

I was so proud of them last night as they put themselves back in the coop before dark. The past two days, we've had a road block at the pop door and a straggler or two still outside when I went out to check. 8:45 pm and everyone was in the coop and on a roosting bar. Good chickies!

Here's just a random video of them. Some roo sparring around the 4:30 mark. Think I need to get rid of them soon. I've identified at least 5 roos, plus 1 I'm pretty sure on (but don't quite want to admit).

Chickens behaved well on Saturday for my father. Even found out that my mother (who is deathly afraid of all birds including the chickens) cooked them up some pasta as a treat. They went to bed in the coop. Sunday morning they got rained on. Didn't quite understand to get back in the coop, so my dad had to catch them individually and put the back in. Banged his head on the coop pretty good in the process.

This morning it was raining, so I left them in the coop. May try to get out of here at lunch and go let them out.

A few pics from last night when we got home and I got to spend some time with them.

One of my roosters - haven't decided on if I'm keeping any or not, but if I did, it might be him.

A curious buff roosters

My silkies really poofed up after their "bath".
