In all the reading I did on chukars it sort of registered in my head that they only lay in the spring. I got some chicks in the spring, they are roughly 5-6 months old. Yesterday I found an egg in a nest. Thinking that it was an odd chance didn't pay to much attention to it, I did put the egg into my incubator. But today I found 2 others eggs. So my question is, is this normal. If they start laying now will they still lay in the spring? Will they sit on thier eggs. I thought I had all winter to figure this out!!!!!

It is possible for them to lay because of their age, it's just that they don't normally lay until spring. I believe chukars do set their own eggs, though I don't know if they would this late in the season. Next spring though, they probably will. Congrats on the eggs
