I thought I start a discussion about incubating duck eggs in a circulated air incubator. I'm on my first batch of Saxony ducks and they just started to show veins when candled. Good sign.
My egg turned acted up and got stuck in one position, and I assume the motor is bad. Contacted the make and still wait on an answer. Anyway I started to rotate by hand, and was advised by one board member that hand turning is actually better for duck eggs. So I will stick with it.
I've read several books on ducks, especially by Holderread.
He suggest to rotate 3 times per day. What is your experience?
He also suggest to lightly spray the eggs with 100 degree water from day 4 to day 26. Anyone using other settings?
Well, I'm sure that there are plenty of other things to consider. Lets start to have a nice discussion.
Katharina
