I just got a small tractor supply chicken coop for my flightless pigeon and will be putting him outside in it this weekend. The mosquitos are really bad back there this year though, to the point that if I go to take out the trash I get 6-7 bites before I get back in the house... I was thinking, if pigeons don't react badly to citronella, I could mix some EO with a cooking oil (probably coconut oil) and paint it on the outside of the coop to help repel the nasty things and also help preserve the wood.

Anyone know? I know birds in general are sensitive, but I don't know if this one in particular bothers them.
