Can you clean you eggs before putting in the incubator or not

Unless if the egg is very dirty you should not wash them. The eggs have a natural anti-bacterial layer called the bloom and if you wash the egg you remove the bloom making them far more susceptible to bacterial invasion.

Better not to wash them....tho I have real numerous threads about hatching eggs that were washed.
If egg's are incredibly poopy and you just have to hatch them, probably better to wash them.

I know many people won't wash eggs but I always have. I don't like the idea of putting a dirty egg in a clean incubator. I sanitize eggs using tek-trol disinfectant in warm water. I think it's one of those thing you need to try then decide if it works for you.

I haven't washed the eggs I incubate, and I have had some pretty nasty eggs in there. But they still hatch. The worst one was a white egg that was so dirty, I didn't actually know the egg color until it hatched and I saw the inside of the shell!

But it hatched!

If you do feel like you have to clean it, use a damp cloth. DON'T submerge the egg in water, or hold it under a faucet.

Thanks .i :celebratethink I will get a damp cloth and just give them a little clean
