Okay, so I cleaned all the nasty straw out of the coop....and filled it with nice clean shavings....smells so good and looks good too, but now the buff orp. won't go in at night. In fact it's so hot here that I had to put a waterer outside in their run, because i know she won't drink from the one inside. I have to catch her at night because everyone is roosted including the rooster and he's making that terrible "omg, where's my hen" kind of crow....it stresses her out for me to corner her. Why won't she just go in????????????????? I can't believe she would be scared of the shavings?

Chickens, some more than others don't like new things. It'll take her a couple of days to get use to it, but she will. Aren't they funny?

They just like what they know.

Yup, I put in a different waterer a week ago, most still won't use it til they empty the (old) smaller one.

Well this is good to know.....although we had "words" last night.....after all I spent alot of time and sweat cleaning it for them .... geesh.

Still smells and looks so nice, i would think it would be much nicer on their little feet too
